Hey I’m Karah Parrs, co-owner of Parrs Landscapes. I was born and raised in Erie, Colorado by my landscape loving dad George. He was a skilled landscaper who owned and operated in the Erie area for over 30 years. I worked along side my dad throughout my childhood and also during my time studying Environmental Design nearby at the University of Colorado at Boulder. While studying, my dad faced an unfortunate cancer diagnosis. Through this battle, he encouraged me to continue his life long legacy and love of the art of landscaping. In continuing his legacy, my passion and love for sustainable, creative landscaping continues to grow.
Meet Nigel. He is foreman and co-owner. He is our number one guy on the site, from demolition to installation. His background in Environmental Science complements his passion for the outdoors and reinforces our pursuit of more sustainable and ethical building practices.
Nigel specializes in stone work and irrigation. From rock walls, to flagstone patios, to ponds, each stone is laid under his meticulous guidance.
REMEMBERING our founder GEORGE
You may remember the name George Parrs, he’s our founder and many of our favorite landscaping styles were originally dreamed up and executed by George. George was a one of a kind guy who loved people and plants. His love for trees far surpassed most and he loved to be outdoors. Many of his days were spent in the mountains, but many more days in clients yards.
He had a passion for nature’s beauty, which led to his keen eye for landscape. He had a great love for outstanding rocks and waterfalls, which inspired his iconic natural water features, walls, patios, and paths. We do our best to keep his passion for the outdoors and for people alive in our work everyday.
